Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning envisions a future where intelligent systems and learning algorithms drive progress and innovation across industries. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive education that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to the rapidly evolving fields of AI and ML.
Our undergraduate program offers a solid foundation in the principles of AI and ML, covering topics such as neural networks, data mining, and pattern recognition. Students engage in hands-on projects to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Narrow AI (or Weak AI): Specialized in a specific task, such as image recognition or language translation.
- General AI (or Strong AI): Possesses the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a broad range of tasks, similar to human intelligence (though true General AI is not yet realized).
- ML is a subset of AI that focuses on the development of algorithms and statistical models that enable computer systems to improve their performance on a specific task over time without being explicitly programmed. In essence, it’s about learning patterns from data.
