Department of Material Physics

The department’s goal is to provide future engineers with a broad understanding of fundamental physics so that they can develop, innovate, and contribute to technological growth in the future. There are six faculty members working on teaching and research initiatives in the Department. The department is involved in a variety of materials physics research areas including crystal growth, thin film, material science, gas sensors, dye sensitized solar cells, supercapacitor, high voltage MOSFETs and batteries. The Department has four Ph.D research scholars. Faculty members have given talks at national and international conferences and many papers are published in reputed international journals.

To promote academic excellence, widen intellectual horizons; inculcate self-discipline and high ideals for the total personality development of individual. To convert a novice into a competent professional with excellent theoretical knowledge and unsurpassed practical skills. To motivate the interest in the research activities, further education and social services.
