Department of Physical sciences
Department of Physical sciences
Department of Applied Physics was inaugurated in the year 2023 to teach, practice and research Physics with rigor and dedication. The Department in terms of number of faculty and programs that it offers serves as one of the largest departments in Science & Humanities of SSE, SIMATS. The Department conducts a vibrant Undergraduate Programmes (Engineering & Technological) in Engineering Physics and a regular Doctoral program. The department has flexibility in framing core and elective Physics courses to the engineering and science from all the other Departments of the Institute. The area of research programs are being pursued intensively in the Department of Physical Sciences which includes internationally reputed scientific journals. While teaching is a part of routine, research is our cup of coffee. Few research projects applied to funding agencies such as DST, AICTE, BRNS etc., Number of awards and recognitions at the national and international levels have also been received by the Department faculty members. The faculty members are extending their knowledge to provide consultancy services to small scale industries.
